South Dakota Bankers Association Ag Credit Conference

Apr 23, 2009

Ag Connections, President, Pete Clark and Vice President, Rick Murdock attended the South Dakota Bankers Association, Ag Credit Conference April 15-17, 2009. Ag Connections was there to exhibit their software products and demonstrate software functionalities that can help agricultural producers manage their production costs. As Ag bankers work with their producers on operating lines of credit as well as short term and long term loans, it is important that producers can properly document their operating loan needs for fuel, fertilizer, crop protection chemicals, seed and services. The Ag Connections Land.db System allows producers to document their production plans and operational costs. The producer can “control release” information to their business partners such as Ag Retailers, Consultants, Processors as well as their Ag Bankers.

Ag Connections sponsored Jim Bower of Bower Trading to speak at the conference on marketing and market direction for 2009. Bower Trading is a highly respected commodities broker and works with growers and ranchers all over the US. Jim asked the audience to “focus on the next 90 days” and help their growers “sell and defend” their 09 production. Bower Trading brings to their customers a daily e-mail that brings global weather, commodity trends, recommendations on marketing opportunities and directions in a short easy to read format.

The conference was well attended and the quality of the speakers at the conference was excellent. South Dakota growers and ranchers need to be proud that they have bankers as well as state support for agriculture, the driving force of the South Dakota economy.
